So in today's blog post, I will be sharing with you the products I received from Vely Vely Singapore, as well as a Korean inspired makeup look to wear during this spring season!
The first step of this spring makeup look is to prep my skin using the
Aura Pearl Base Primer. This primer contains a mixture of pearl powder, diamond powder and ruby powder, to deliver the best results of natural radiant looking skin.
I love how this primer also provides a little bit of hydration to my skin, and it's lightweight and non-sticky so my skin feels comfortable and breathable throughout the day. If you have clear skin, you can even use this on its own to give your skin a little glow.
Now that my skin is looking radiant, it's time to even out my skin tone and cover up any blemishes, dark spots, and dark eye circles using the
H20 Ampoule Foundation in #23 Natural, and the
IM Custom Flawless Concealer in shade Natural.
The H20 Ampoule Foundation is one that will keep your skin feeling fresh, radiant and healthy looking all day long as it contains ingredients that will help boost the moisture levels in your skin, and brighten up your complexion. It also has a buildable low to high coverage to cater to every individuals' needs. I decided to use my trusty beauty blender to apply this foundation, as it is recommend to use a damp sponge if you wish to go for a more dewy look!
The IM Custom Flawless concealer is great for concealing and brightening any dull areas, dark spots, and acne scars as it comes with SPF30 which is able to protect and prevent the dark spots and scars from darkening even further under the sun. My favourite part about this concealer is how easy it is to blend, as well as the bent applicator as it was able to cover my entire under eye in just one simple stroke.
Moving on to blush and highlight, I am using the
Choc choc Water Cushion Blush in #Peach Orange and one of Vely Vely's best selling highlighter, the
3D Highlighter.
I usually don't prefer cream blush, but since this blush is in cushion form, it makes it very quick and easy to blend the blush into my base makeup. The shade Peach Orange is a light, pastel orange, so it is extremely sheer for my skin tone. Frankly speaking, I currently own 2 orange cream/liquid blush and none of them are visible on my skin. Therefore, for medium skin-toned users, I highly recommend you to pick another shade instead, or use a powder blush.
This 3D highlighter is officially my current favourite highlighter! I love how thick and creamy the formula is which makes it easy to precisely apply it onto small areas like under your brow bone, tip of your nose, or cupid's bow. This highlighter is also not super pigmented which is nice as you don't want to end up looking like a sun reflective film! The finish is extremely natural and glowy which I love. I used this on the top of my cheek bones, blending it out with my beauty blender, and with the product left on the beauty blender, I just dab it on the tip of my nose as well as cupid's bow.
Our base is done, so it's time to move on to our brows. For my brows, I will be using the
1.5mm Microfiber Eyebrow Pencil, and because my eyebrow embroidery are a little too dark for my liking, I decided to pick shade #Ginger which is a much lighter shade than my hair colour.
I love how thin this eyebrow pencil is as it really helps with drawing precised brows. The shade ginger also did a wonderful job balancing out the darker hues of my eyebrow embroidery.
Brows checked, now it's time for eyeshadow! I've picked out a total of 4 shades from
Vely Vely's single eyeshadow collection and within this collection, the eyeshadows are further classified into 3 different types. Matte, shimmer, and glitter.
First, I will be applying #Sunset G all over my lids as this is going to be our main colour for today's look. Sunset G is a glitter, orange-coral shade which I think will look perfect for both spring and summer time. Even though the eyeshadows look really shocking in the pan, they are all actually extremely light and I think that's really the highlight of most Korean makeup looks where the eyeshadows are always soft and subtle looking.
To add another pop of colour on my lids, I'm applying Blossom M which is a pastel pink matte shade on the outer portion of my lids, as well as my outer lower lash line to balance out the colour. I think this shade brings out the femininity of the eyeshadow look, and it also adds more of a spring floral touch to it.
Next, to intensify the eyeshadow look, I'm going in with Toast S, which is a medium brown shimmer. And lastly, for my inner eye highlight, I'm using Champagne G which is a cool golden glitter. I absolutely love this shade as it really brightens up and makes a difference in my eye look.
To finish off the eye look, I did a soft and subtle wing using the
Eye Definition Lasting Shadow Liner in #Cinnamon Toast, which is a shimmery medium brown crayon liner, and a light coat of my own mascara.
For my lipstick choice, I decided to try out Vely Vely's best selling lip product, the
Melting Kiss Moisture Lipstick. This lipstick is a combination of a lipstick, lip balm, lip essence, and lip gloss! I decided to go for shade Molly, which is a gorgeous natural rose shade. The colour is extremely pigmented and I absolutely love how this kept my lips feeling moist and plump.
And that completes the makeup look! Overall, I think I'm officially obsessed with the products from Vely Vely and I'll definitely be wearing this look for majority of spring! It has been about close to 2 weeks since I received these products and I'm already carrying them around in my makeup pouch. If you wish to see the products in action, click

Prior to entering the workforce, I've always been an active girl. I used to exercise 5 to 6 days a week, and I loved to dance during my free time. Unfortunately, ever since I started my first desk job 3 years ago, I've stopped being so active as holding an office job just means sitting in front of a computer for close to 8 hours a day, and the only walking I get to do is from my desk to the washroom, or to the photocopier machine.
I've never thought that sitting in front of a computer for such long hours will cause any damage to my health, but back in 2015, I started to experience occasional pain around my shoulders and neck. Thinking that it was only a minor issue, I did not take the pain seriously. As years passed, my condition worsen especially in 2017 when I started to experience a constant pain in my lower back. The pain in my lower back caused my legs to feel sore and on numerous occasions, I was unable to fall asleep due to my body pains. I started paying more attention to my body pains by doing occasional yoga, by purchasing loads of medicated plasters and sticking them all over, by massaging myself with mediated ointments, and by doing stretches in the office whenever I can. But the pain persisted.
Although I try my best to go through my de-stress routine whenever I feel mentally overwhelmed, stress is inevitable during work, and this stress I face at work feels just like weights pressing against my shoulders and neck while I'm working. Apart from that, after I came back from my Taiwan trip in January, I noticed my shoulders were slightly "swollen" and that is probably due to the long hours of carrying my DSLR around with me during my entire trip that caused the tension in my shoulders to worsen. When I came back from my Taiwan trip, the pain became a nuisance as not only my back aches, but also my shoulders and neck. I was feeling very unhealthy and stiff, and I knew that I had to find a solution to fix it before it gets even worse.
Thankfully, Chrysalis™Spa came at the right time! They contacted me not too long after and asked if I would like to try out any of their services. I noticed that they have a good selection of massages and so I initially opted to go for their Therapeutic massage which is designed for relaxing and de-stress. Since Chrysalis™Spa has multiple outlets all over Singapore, it was very easy for me to find an outlet near me.
When I arrived at Chrysalis™Spa, I decided to inform them about the body pains I was struggling with and their branch manager recommended me to go for the Lajin Meridian Massage instead which is more suitable for those who are experiencing with shoulders, neck, and back pains usually caused by long hours of sitting and stress. Lajin is a Chinese method of massage and it's directly translated to "Stretching your Tendons and Ligaments". It involves a series of pressing and dragging motions to loosen up any tensions formed in your muscles, as well as improve our overall blood circulation.
The entire massage took 20 minutes which I'm thankful about because instead of a relaxing massage, it was actually quite painful! I was told by their therapist that I have a good tolerance for pain because I lasted all the way without showing any signs of pain, but I was actually just bearing with it because I know that once my knots were loosen, I will feel a lot better. I love how their therapist continuously chats with me throughout the process as it actually makes the pain a lot more bearable. After the treatment was done, I was told that I will get bruises around the areas that she massaged and true enough, the next day, my back was covered in bruises. The bruises didn't really bother me since technically, I couldn't see them... I didn't even know I had bruises until my boyfriend pointed them out to me.
Days passed, and I begin to notice a significant difference in my body pains! The area where I found the most improvement was my neck and shoulders. Prior to the treatment, my neck was constantly aching, and during bad days, it would even cause me to have a headache. This aching neck started towards the end of 2017 and since then, I've been trying out various methods of stretching, and even yoga to ease the ache, but nothing really worked as well as this treatment. In just one session of the Lajin Meridian Massage, my neck doesn't ache anymore and my shoulders feel a lot more relaxed and 'light'. Unfortunately, because I have waited only until now to get my body treated, one session is not enough for my body to go back to its healthy form as I'm still spending most of my time sitting in front of a computer. My lower back is still aching and even though I find my neck and shoulders more relaxed, I wouldn't say it is completely healed. Their therapist did recommend me to go for one Lajin session at least once every 2 weeks until my condition improve, so I'm looking forward to go back again for my next treatment!
In collaboration with Chrysalis Spa ™ for this blog post, they are very kindly offering a special promotion for all my readers! Simply quote "Maureen" at Chrysalis Spa ™ to enjoy the Lajin Meridian Massage at only S$38 (UP S$308.16)! I honestly wished I have gone for the Lajin massage earlier instead of waiting until my condition worsened, so if you're struggling with body pains, I highly recommend you to get it treated as soon as possible to prevent further complications.

I've always envied those who can fall asleep as soon as their head hits their pillow. I am a night person, and apart from that, my brain is constantly active, causing me to suffer from insomnia very frequently. If you've never suffered from insomnia, you are one lucky lucky soul! Insomnia is such an inconvenience for me because my work starts at 8 in the morning. So regardless of what time I fall asleep, I will always need to be up by 6ish in the morning. Imagine working with only a couple hours of proper sleep!
To help cope with my insomnia, I'll go through my de-stress routine to relax, and I love to incorporate products from Lush to further enhance the effectiveness of my routine. As you all should know by now, I am a huge lover of Lush's products. Even though I've worked with them multiple times and they've sent me multiple products to enjoy, I still frequent their stores to pick up items that I love. This blog post contains products that they've sent to me, as well as products I've bought with my own money, and most importantly... This blog post is not sponsored! ;-)
The first step of this routine is to take a shower. Before I hop into my bath, I always take a quick shower to ensure that I go in clean. I mean, you wouldn't want to be soaking in dirty water, right? For this step, it isn't very important since you will be soaking in a bath later on, but I recommend using
Lush's Twilight naked shower gel if you want to keep the relaxing trend going right from the start.
Lush has recently come up with naked shower gels which makes them more environmental and slightly more pocket-friendly than the bottled shower gels! If you're new here, you might not know, that my favourite relaxing scent is Lavender, which makes this shower gel perfect as its main ingredient is Lavender. If you're into relaxing shower gels, you can definitely count on Twilight as it is probably Lush's signature "relaxing" fragrance. Apart from a Twilight shower gel, Lush also offers Twilight bath bombs, Twilight body sprays, Twilight sparkle jars, and even Twilight gift boxes! This product is a Christmas edition, so grab it while you still can.
It's time to run our bath! For my bath products recommendation, I have a bubble bar, a jelly bomb, and a bath oil. You can choose to use only 1 at a time, but I'd probably go with 2 (or maybe even all 3 at once...).
If you've watched my Lush Valentine's Day Unboxing video, I gave a little tip on how to properly use a bubble bar and bubbleroon, and that is to
crumble it under running water once you're starting to fill your tub, followed by
making splashes with your hands to generate even more bubbles. One of my favourite relaxing bubble bars from Lush is the Valentine's Day special
Unicorn Horn bubble bar.
I first used it in 2017 and I love how this contains, again, Lavender as its main ingredient. It also contains Ylang Ylang oil which is probably my second favourite. This entire horn creates enough bubbles for 2 baths if you use it the right way, turns your bath into a magical baby pink shade and it is also covered in fine silver glitter!
Next up, we've got a jelly bomb. If you wish to see how your jelly bomb fizzes, drop it in just before you crumble your bubble bar, otherwise the bubbles will cover up the magical moment of your jelly bomb fizzing. The jelly bomb I'm recommending is
The Big Sleep jelly bomb.
Yes. Its main ingredient is Lavender, and it also contains Chamomile! If you're using this on its own, this will transform your bath into a sea foam shade. Because this is a
jelly bomb, the jelly will thicken up the water, making it more comforting to soak in!
The final bath product is a bath oil. I am a huge fan of bath oils, so I was beyond excited to find the
Dreamtime bath oil in stores!
This bath oil basically melts in your bath, so make sure to keep it away from direct sunlight because it does melt
very easily. I was holding it to take a shot of it and it just started melting on my fingers!
I am so in love with the shade of this bath melt! As you can see from above, it will transform your bath into a gorgeous purple shade and on top of that, it also has purple and gold fine glitter on it which makes it even more magical-looking. The main ingredient of this bath oil is Chamomile, together with the star ingredient of today's blog post, Lavender.
It's time for our post-bath product. This is a fairly new product from Lush, and within days of its release, it went out of stock, island-wide for months! And this product is none other than the
Sleepy body lotion!
This lotion smells, INCREDIBLE. Once I've applied in on my skin, I just can't stop sniffing it! At this point of time, I feel embarrassed to say this, but its main ingredient is Lavender, along with Oatmeal, Tonka, and Ylang Ylang. I mean, whoever thought of this combination deserves a raise!
The lotion itself is very thick and oily, but to my surprise, I actually love the texture of it! My skin has been very dry recently, making me itch all over the place. But after I started using this body lotion, I've completely stopped itching and my skin just feels so smooth and soft. I've never had the habit of moisturising my body, but this body lotion changed that for me.
As I've mentioned, this lotion is thick and therefore it is kinda sticky to the touch. But since this is a lotion to help me fall asleep, I only apply this at night before bedtime so the stickiness doesn't bother me at all. If you're particular about thick lotions, make sure to head down to a Lush store to test it out first! This lotion also comes in a smaller tub, but in my opinion, the large sized tub is a lot more worth it for the price tag.
And that's it! Cuddle up under your sheets and have a good night sleep. Goodnight!
