In February, I was introduced to a Korean cosmetic brand I've never heard of,
Vely Vely, and after trying out their products to create this
Korean inspired look, I became completely obsessed with their products! This is completely evident with the fact that I've been wearing the same look over and over again for the past 2 months, and my makeup pouch is packed with every single item I featured in
this blog post *minus the blush because the shade is too light for my skin! So far, I've done up a total of 3 blog posts for Vely Vely (

With that said, more than a week ago, very excitingly, I received the special
My Vely Beauty Surprise Box from
Waseyo.com, which is an online shopping destination for all you K-beauty lovers! Waseyo.com offers a good variety of K-beauty products from less mainstream Korean brands including Vely Vely, and apart from cosmetics, they also offer Korean skincare, hair care, body care and health products.
Waseyo is turning 1 on the 22nd April, and to celebrate this special occasion, they will be launching these surprises boxes from the 20th till 22nd April.
So for today's blog post, I will be using the new products I received in the My Vely Beauty Surprise Box, along with some of the other products I received from Vely Vely, to create a brand new look and at the same time, introduce the new products to you guys.
Jumping right into the makeup look, I will be starting off with sunscreen to prep and protect my skin. Here, I am using the
Vely Vely Peach Skin Suncream. Vely Vely offers two sun creams, but I've chosen this one as this sun cream has a slight pink tone to it which will help brighten up and tone up your skintone. If you're a frequent reader or viewer, you must know by now that I have dull skin and I get obsessed with anything that helps to brighten up my skin. If you have dry skin, you might want to consider their
Waterfall Sun Essence which will provide more hydration to your skin.
This suncream has a moisturizing texture and surprisingly it feels very lightweight on my skin as well. Other than just protecting your skin from UV rays, this sun cream also contains Beetroot extract to strengthen the skins' barrier from other external factors such as dust and dirt. It also gives my skin a dewy and moist finish which is great if you're looking to achieve that Korean dewy finish look.
I used to apply foundation before my concealer, but recently, I found out that applying concealer first really helps my makeup look more natural and light as it prevents me from over applying and caking up my skin. For concealer, I'm using the
Vely Vely IM Custom Flawless Concealer which is my favourite concealer at the moment. I find that this concealer does an amazing job in concealing my spots, even with a light layer.
After concealing, I'll apply a teeny tiny amount of foundation, only on the areas that aren't covered with concealer to even out and brighten up my overall complexion. I will be using the
Vely Vely Long Lasting Cover Foundation since I used the H2O Ampoule Foundation the previous time. I did a comparison blog post between the two foundations, so click
here if you're interested to know more about them.
It's time for brows, so I'm using the
Vely Vely 1.5mm Microfiber Brow Pencil, this time round in the shade Choco B which is the perfect shade if you're a brunette. Previously, I used Ginger, which is a lighter brown with orange tones.
Brows are done, so let's move along to our eye makeup! This time round, I have two new additions to my
Vely Vely single eyeshadows collection- Peanut Pie G (for Glitter) and Wine S (for Shimmer).
Peanut Pie is a reddish brown glitter which I will be applying all over my lids and bottom lash line as our main glitter shade today. Since this shade is quite dark, I made sure to apply it close to my lash line without blending it outwards too much.
Wine S is a dark plum shimmer which I will be adding to the outer eye areas to give my eyes a touch of elegance and maturity. To complete the eyeshadow look, we can't forget our inner highlight using Champange G.
To give my eyes more definition, I will be lining my upper lash line with the
Vely Vely Eye Definition Lasting Shadow Liner in Chocolate Brownie. I flipping love this liner to line my upper lash line because it's so pigmented, smooth and creamy! Other than that, it's also waterproof and smudge-proof! I've also extended the line outwards, just a little, to give the illusion of less rounder eyes.
Time to curl our lashes and apply the Vely Vely Lash Up Long Curl Mascara! This is one of the new products from Vely Vely which will be launching on the 20th April, and my favourite part about this mascara is how thin the wand and brush is as it makes it effortless to coat every single one of my lashes without clumping them up. The end results are natural looking long lashes that really compliments the non-heavy Korean makeup look I'm going for today.
We're done with my eyes so let's go back to our base with contour, highlight, and blush. For highlight, no doubt here, I'm going in with my favourite
Vely Vely 3D Highlighter. This creamy sliver highlighter is the key to getting raised and defined cheekbones without looking too artificial and shiny.
Previously for blush, I used the
Vely Vely Choc Choc Water Cushion Blush in Peach Orange, which I loved in terms of the application and texture, however because I have medium skin, the orange just doesn't show up well on my skin. Therefore, this time round, I decided to stick to a darker shade with the Vely Vely Creamy Glow Blush, which is also one of the new products launching on the 20th April! I picked the shade Erotic, which is a hot reddish pink shade with glitter and oh my God, I am now in love with this blush!
I've never really been into cream blushers even though I have a good amount of them sitting in my collection. I've never really liked them was because they're always really sticky and thick. However, the Vely Vely Creamy Glow Blush is completely different. It's not only pigmented, but it's also extremely moist and watery... Just look at the swatch! Not to mention, the colour is absolutely gorgeous as well to create that natural flush of blush.
We're down to the very last step - the lips! I'm starting off by applying the
Vely Vely Sliding Butter Crayon Lipstick in Grapefruit Butter on the inner parts of my lips.
Grapefruit butter is a natural pink shade which is surprisingly quite bold for me if I were to fully apply it on my lips, therefore I'll be using the sponge applicator that comes on the other side to blend the shade outwards for a more natural, gradient look.
With my base and eye makeup looking all moist, dewy and shimmery, I can't let my lips lose out. Therefore, I'm going in with the
Vely Vely Water Tint Lip Pumping Duo to give my lips a boost of plumpness! This product is a 2-in-1 Lip Tint and Lip Plumper and I've chosen it in the shade Raspberry Shot which is a bright pink with hints of purple.
Since I already have on the Sliding Butter Crayon Lipstick, I will only be using the Lip Plumper which looks like a Lip Gloss... But it's actually really a lip
plumper. After applying it on, it gives my lips a cool tingling sensation and it also helps nourish and moisturize my lips at the same time with Eyterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil and Sea Buckthorn Oil. I love how extra moist my lips look with this versatile lip plumper as I have been using it along with other lip colours too!
And with that, we're done with the makeup look! This look is definitely heavier than the previous look I've created which is more suitable for everyday use, but at the same time, it's still light in comparison to westernized makeup looks due to the light layers of eyeshadows, natural looking lashes, and lack of heavily winged eyeliner. I think the dewy finish also helps keep the makeup look youthful and fresh. If you wish to see these products in action and the completed makeup look, click
